# Quickstart guides

After you have [installed Zabbix](/manual/installation) and its [web interface](/manual/installation/frontend), it is time to start monitoring.

Use these quick guides to start monitoring popular resources:

- [Linux server monitoring](/manual/installation/guides/monitor_linux)
- [Apache web server monitoring](/manual/installation/guides/monitor_apache)
- [MySQL server monitoring](/manual/installation/guides/monitor_mysql)

Quickstart guides focus on using official Zabbix templates for monitoring.
A template is a pre-configured set of monitoring elements.
A template allows to scale monitoring—you can test a template on a single monitoring target (device, app, etc), tweak it, and then apply it to multiple similar monitoring targets.

While templates are fine for out-of-the-box monitoring, you may also be interested in customizing its elements.

To better understand the basic elements that make up a template, consult [Basic configuration](/manual/installation/guides/basic_config).
